Today (Sunday, March 7) was the first day we were able to have service
since the earthquake. From the opening song "Eres Mi Esperanza" (You Are
My Hope, my castle, my God in whom I'll trust), the power of God moved
in such a mighty way.
These people who have lost so much, some of the lost everything, houses,
jobs, even family members, but yet the came to the house of God to
worship. I was taken back by their worship. No one was worshiping to
make themselves feel better, they were worshipping because God is good.
After service we delivered 40+ care boxes to families in need. In the
area around the church, they are still without power, water and gas. But
not a one of them complained this morning, NOT A ONE!
Please feel free to read them wherever and whenever! I am posting them
to get the word out on what is going on here.
Many people have asked what they can send us to help? We can pretty
much get anything here in surrounding cities that weren't too affected
by the quake. But what the work is lacking here is funds, so without
trying to sound presumptuous, we are asking people to give financially.
That way we can put the right things together. We will now have more
freedom to travel and assess the situation. We will begin getting
building supplies to rebuild. On Wednesday, I will be traveling to take
pictures of the houses of some of our people who lost everything. What
we need is the funds to help rebuild, that is the #1 issue right now.
Winter is about to start here and with that the rainy season, I can't
have anyone here without a home. We need to rebuild and we need to do it
quickly.
Thanks to all who have given and prayed for Chile! Please don't stop,
there is more to be done now than ever.
